Bright sun, crystal-clear waters, ever-changing beaches, romantic bays, this charming peninsula has everything to offer. On this tour, apart from the rich history, you will also experience contemporary Greece and the warmth of Greek hospitality.
Day 1: Arrivial in Chalkididi
Arrival at the airport of Thessaloniki where you are welcomed by your guide and transferred to your hotel on the Chalidiki peninsula. After room allocation we meet for a welcoming cocktail and to go over your programme.
Day 2: Sithonia-excursion (approx. 160 km)
The first excursion takes you to the centre of the peninsula to Sithonia: Marvellous beaches and beautiful bays decorate the turquoise see, picturesque fishing villages make up a breathtaking scenery. The landscapes change from land to water, from pine forests to olive groves, from rocky cliffs to sandy beaches. Sithonia is a truly mesmerizing!
Day 3: Cave of Petralina & Peninsula of Kassandra (approx 190km)
After breakfast you visit the beautiful Cave of Petralona and continue for a tour of Kassandra, the western finger of Chalkidiki. As this is the closest to Thessaloniki it is also the most popular. The Kassandra peninsula is a cosmopolitan place, densely populated and a great tourist attraction. Pefkochori with the beautiful pine trees, the beautiful beach of Fourka and the village of Polychrono on the fingertip of Kassandra are a few of the beautiful places that you will get to visit
Day 4: Day trip to Thessaloniki (approx. 170km)
This excursion takes you to metropolis of the north, Thessaloniki. Along the coast, you reach the White Tower (Lefkos Pirgos), the city’s landmark. You visit the beautiful Basilika of Saint Dimitrios, the city walls, the Rotonda and Galerios’ Arch of Triumph. You the visit the museum with the famous gold treasure of Vergina and the new museum of Byzantine Art. The last stop for the day is in the centre of Thessaloniki where you try the local schnapps (Tsipouro) and traditional delicacies in the small taverns.
Day 5: Boat trip to Mount Athos
This day is free for you to enjoy as you like, simply relaxing and taking advantage of the hotel facilities or exploring the surrounding area. Upon request we can organize a boat trip for you to the third finger of Chalkidiki, the autonomous monk republic of Athos. Visiting the holy Mount Athos is very difficult and allowed only for men with special permission therefore you can take a mini cruise along the coast line to admire the impressive monasteries that date back hundreds of years. This heavenly, calm place leaves an unforgettable impression to anyone who visits.
Day 6: Day trip to Kavala-Philipi (approx. 350km)
Today you will get to know a part of Greece known only to few. Through Amfipolis with the famous Lion statue, you arrive in Kavala, a old picturesque town with a beautiful harbour. After visiting the town walls and the Venetian fort you continue to Philipi to see the impressive archaeological site, where Apostle Paul established the first Christian community of Europe.
Day 7: The Land and the people. (approx. 155km)
The excursion begins in a mountainous landscape and takes you through forests, vineyards, gardens and fruit fields. You visit the capital of Poligiros and continue to the picturesque Arnea, well known for its excellent wine varieties and the wonderful textile works. Before returning to the hotel you will meet with the members of the local wine union for a wine tasting!
Day 8: Return-flight
Transfer to the airport for your return flight.
