Corfu, the northern and second-largest of the seven Ionian Islands the
stretch along the west coast of Greece owes its fame to its great variety
of unique landscapes and sceneries and to is rich past. Odysseus was one
of the first to be welcomed by its friendly shores, but nowadays the
island attracts people from al over the world.
The numerous historical monuments, reminders of the island’s many
conquerors, the archaeological sites and palaces, the countless churches
and monasteries will amaze every sightseer! The fascinating landscapes
of the island never seize to impress the visitors as there is a new view
around each corner. The many sandy beaches make Corfu ideal for
a relaxing day at the beach.
Day 1: Italy - Greece Boarding -
Departure of the ferry in the evening. Overnight stay on board.
Day 2: Corfu Arrival in Corfu
(arrival in Igoumenitsa and from there 45’ boat trip to Corfu). Even upon arrival Corfu and its beautiful port gives a fantastic impression. Your tour guide will be waiting for you at the port to take you to your beach hotel for room allocation. You meet again in the evening to go over your itinerary and for a welcoming cocktail.
Day 3: City tour
Today you get acquainted with the picturesque town of Corfu. You visit the fort dated back to the 16th century, then towards the west of the town to the Spaniada Square with the beautiful Venetian buildings, the old port, the municipality from the 17th century, the Cathedral of Agios Spyridon and the archaeological museum. In the afternoon we suggest a short trip south of the city of Corfu to visit Kanoni and the Vlaherna Monastery, Pontikonisi with the small chapel, the castles of Mon-Repo and the Achillion near Gastourni, the summer residence of Princess Sissi.
Day 4: Paleokastritsa (approx.50km)
Today your journey takes you through an amazing landscape to Paleokastritsa, a idyllic destination with small bays. You visit the Monasteries from the 12th century, the Angelokastro Fort and the mountain village Lakones. During the excursion you can stop for lunch and a swim. In the evening you can take part in a folklore eveningwith traditional spices, wine, music and dancing.
Day 5: Kassiopi- Sidari (approx.100km)
On this day you journey along the beatiful coast with the small bays (Dafnila, Gouvia, Dassia, Glyfa) to the small fishermen’s’ village Kassiopi. After visiting the Byzantine ruins in Kassiopi you continue Sidari which lies on the north side of the island. From there you can take a short boat trip to the Othoni island and enjoy a meal of fresh fish.
Day 6: Benitses- Kavos- Pelekas (approx. 100 km)
You journey along the southeast coast and its long beaches, fishermen’s’ villages like Benitses, holiday resorts like Moraitika and Messongi to reach the south part of the island and Kavos. Kavos is on the south tip of the island and has a 2km long sandy beach. You have time to enjoy a swim and the magnificent surroundings. You journey back to the hotel takes you over Gardiki with the Byzantine castle, the Korission Lagoon, the only lake of Corfu, and Peleka, one of the most beautiful villages of the island for an unforgettable sunset.
Day 7: Corfu-Boarding
The morning is free for you to relax at the hotel or, as we suggest, to go for a walk through the picturesque “Kantounia“, the small Venetian passages in the town of Corfu. In the evening you board the ferry to Italy.
Day 8: Arrival in Italy - Journey home
The ferry trip from Patras to Ancona is an unforgettable experience. The ships are fully equipped with modern facilities to ensure a pleasurable journey.
