IMBROS GORGE

Day activity:
Driving along the north coast to the beautiful harbour city Rethymnon for a short coffee break. Continuing westwards up to the mountains, through the picturesque mountain village of Vrises, renowned for its traditionally prepared leg of lamb, through Askifou to the village of Imbros, to the entrance of the magnificent gorge. The imposing walk through the gorge takes about 2/3 hours, leading into the village of Komitades. Here you will have the time for a rest and to enjoy a lovely lunch.

The coach will bring you to the village Frangokastello, this is an old Venetian castle, by the Libyan Sea. There is a possibility to have a cool swim, after continuing on the road through the village of Rodakino and through the wild romantic Kotsifou Gorge in the direction Heraklion.
